Atiku Abubakar

Abubakar worked in the Nigeria Customs Service for twenty years after which he took up business and politics.

 

He served as the Vice President of Nigeria for 8years from 1999 to 2007 during the.                     Presidency of Olusegu Obasanjo.                    Since the return to democracy, Abubakar has contested in all the elections after leaving office in 2007.

Atiku was characterized by the role of Chairman of the National Economic Council and head of the National Council on Privatization, overseeing the sale of hundreds of loss-making and poorly managed public enterprises alongside Nasir El Rufai.

In 2006, Abubakar was involved in a bitter public battle with his boss, President Olusegun Obasanjo, ostensibly arising from the latter’s bid to amend certain provisions of the constitution to take another shot at the presidency (Third Term Agenda).

This fall out with his boss made him leave Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) in preparation for the 2007 elections.

On the other hand, Professor Yemi Osinbajo stated his career as a law lecturer at the University of Lagos.

And later went to politics in 2007 when he was appointed as the Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice.

In 2015, Pastor Yemi Osinbajo was sworn into the office of Vice President and he was expected to oversee the economic planning team and report, as well as make recommendations.

Osinbajo who tagged the most trustworthy Vice President by the Emir of Daura while Acting as the President made some economic decision which made the Naira note valuable.

Recently, he was appointed in the economic sustainability committee.

With the aim of developing measures to cushion the effect of the coronavirus and eventually reposition the Nigerian economy.
